    Muchas gracias

    @dargye ,

Regarding your concern about the video optimization, LifterLMS doesn’t include built-in video optimization settings for different device formats. Video optimization typically depends on how the videos are hosted and served.

If you’re hosting your videos on platforms like YouTube or Vimeo, they automatically optimize video playback for various devices. If you’re self-hosting, you may want to use responsive video settings or tools to ensure compatibility across different devices.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Hello Alexander

I would love for you to help me with some information on this topic

I have my videos hosted on my server and I have them in four different formats. High definition, for computers, for tablets and for mobile.
I love the Lifter LMS lesson and course builder but I obviously have to do something about the videos.

That is why I have also switched to Lifter because before I had a learning plugin, a membership plugin and a template that supported all this. In the end there were too many technical problems and incidents.

I see that with this Lifter LMS system all this is over because I see it as robust, beautiful and although it is not yet up and running it gives me the feeling that it is the most professional on the market.

What do you recommend to optimize the videos without breaking the structure of the learning system?
Could you give me information and alternatives in this regard.

    I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you, thank you.
    Rober

    Hi @dargye,

Please note that LifterLMS does not have a concept of video optimization. We only rely on the built-in video functionality that WordPress provides to us. In particular, video players and hosts like YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia are responsible for delivering the video in the best possible way for your viewers, so you as the video uploader don’t have to worry about video optimization. What we recommend is that you host your videos in any one of those three platforms (YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia), and then use the video link with LifterLMS. The YouTube tutorial at the bottom of lifterlms.com/docs/using-course-builder/#how-to-add-and-view-lesson-content should give you a comprehensive introduction into adding multimedia content to your lessons, specially one or more videos in a single lesson.

    Hi Nick

I really appreciate your response but those options are not valid for my company.

I have about 250 videos and I create more content every month, the rates of these sites that you recommend far exceed what it costs me to host my videos.

Although YouTube is free, it does not exempt itself from placing advertising even if the content is private.
That is why when creating the company we found the perfect solution of having our own server for which we pay a more than competitive price, compared to Vimeo, for example.

I understand that with your system there are actions that I can carry out to be able to insert that video optimizer as Alejandro kindly explained to me in his message.
What I was looking for are recommendations in that sense, not that the only option is to have the videos on the platforms that you recommend, which is not what I asked.

But thank you for your response. It is clear to me.

    Hi @dargye ,

Thank you for your response, and I appreciate your clarification.

I understand that you are hosting videos on your own server and are looking for optimization strategies. As mentioned by Nick, our typical recommendation is to use platforms like Vimeo or Wistia. These services offer adaptive streaming, which automatically adjusts the video quality based on the viewer’s device and internet connection. This approach ensures smooth playback and reduces the load on your server.

Another option to consider is using a Content Delivery Network (CDN). CDNs distribute your video files across multiple servers globally, which can significantly reduce latency and improve the overall viewing experience.

If you are interested in using Vimeo or Wistia, we also offer an add-on called LifterLMS Advanced Videos, which provides enhanced control over video playback features and integrates with your courses and lessons. You can find more details here: LifterLMS Advanced Videos.

Please let us know if there is anything else I can assist you with.
