sociable icons next to "leave comments"?

I’m using the sociable plugin with the custom php function code (from the sociable website). I put the code inside the loop.php file (in a child template) and turned off all other display options for the plugin.

My problem is that I want to get the icons to align next to the “leave comments” button instead of below it.

Right now the php global line for sociable is inside the <span class=”comments-link”> part of the loop. Any thoughts on where to put it so it will be aligned with the button instead of below it? It seems I got it close but not quite.

I’m new to php and wordpress so let me know if you need some more info.
