• My Social icons only appear in the header and footer of my site on internal blog pages. They are always clickable and function, but appear to be whited out on the homepage only.

I have tried a handful of solutions for this. I am using a theme built on genesis and the theme recommended the use of Simple Social Icons. I’ve ruled out CSS and other plugin conflicts, I’ve switched themes, cleared cached, and tested multiple browsers on both mobile and desktop. Anyone else run into this?

    Hi, @swilliams2207!

I checked the homepage at https://kitchenswagger.com/ and see the icons in black within the site’s header and footer. (I tried Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.)

If you’re still seeing this on multiple devices, please feel free to share browser/OS info.

I’m having this exact issue and none of my fixes have worked. Sometimes I ask others to look at the site and theyre able to see the icons. I can’t most of the time. They appear and disappear at random. I’ve tried multiple browsers. I’m a novice at WordPress. Am I doing something wrong?

ETA: I’ve also checked using Safari on my phone. I don’t see them there, either.

    Hi, @harperjameson.

I see the icons in your footer under “Follow Harper” on Chrome/Firefox/Safari (Mac) and in Mobile Safari (iPhone):

    One thing you can check:

    – Some ad blockers can disable social media elements. If you’re using a blocker of any kind on desktop or phone, it’s worth disabling it temporarily.

Otherwise, the next time they disappear for you on desktop, please could you open your browser console and take a screenshot of any messages you see there? You can then create a new topic with a link to the screenshot (uploaded to https://imgur.com/upload or similar). This will sometimes reveal the issue causing them not to load.
