    Hey,

I’m using an Astra template with woocommerce and using elementor.
When I try to put in the social icon widget anywhere it doesn’t show anything. It’s just completely blank.
I can’t click it. The only way to get into the widget is through the navigation menu, but whatever I change nothing happens.

I’ve done the Elementor > settings > advanced > Load Font Awesome 4 Support (Yes)
    But it doesn’t change anything.

What else can be the problem?

    Hi,

My website is not yet live so I don’t really know how to send a link to it.

Will be tougher to debug without access to the site.

Could you open the Chrome Developer Tools Console tab, navigate to your site, and refresh the page. Here’s how to get there. Or you can Google “How to open Chrome console” for other guides.

Then see if you get any sorts of errors in the Console, and share a screenshot of what’s going on.

    Looks like this:

Also, you mentioned Font Awesome 4 and based on this article it looks like Elementor has support for Font Awesome 5, may want to update.

Can you also try disabling all plugins and switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty Two and see if the issue persists?

Okay so I opened the chrome console

I have Font Awesome 5 installed so that shouldn’t be the problem I think.

If I switch to a default theme will it mess with the work I’ve already done in the theme I have?

    @limpur

The image you posted has been compressed so its hard to read. Can to post a higher quality version or copy/Paste it?

According to this Elementor post, you should be able to switch themes and back without issue. To my latest recollection/experience this is the case.
In contrast, Elementor Template Kits build the content directly inside Elementor, without shortcodes, and so if you use Elementor to create your content, changing the theme won’t “break” the content’.

Could always to a backup for good measure, but I’m pretty sure it’s not necessary.

I tried to disable the theme and I turned off all pluggins exept elementor and changed to Twenty Twenty Two. The problem was still there

    Hi,

To troubleshoot the issue please try this guideline:

Regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard. (Make sure to back up your site).

Go to Elementor > Settings on your WordPress dashboard. Click the Advanced tab and then switch the CSS print method to Internal embedding.

Clear all cache: your browser’s cache, other plugins’ cache, and server cache (if possible).

    Hi,

I tried to do the whole troubleshoot process and it’s still not working.

    Hi @limpur

As there is an error 404 on post-25, you may try to change the permalink structure to plain and see if it helps.

    Hi,

    Sorry, didn’t work…

    Hi,

In some cases, some rewritten files remain linked to a page due to a faulty cache, which may trigger this error. Each CSS file has a series of number end the end. in this case, as it is visible in the screenshot of the JS console) so, there may be an old CSS file linked instead of a new, regenerated one.

There were reports of this mainly happening on Redis (sort of caching engine) running on top of the nGinx (HTTP server/reverse proxy/and more):

    Hi,

The website is live now. So you can take a look if you can find out what is wrong.
[ moved to link field ]

How can I check if that is the issue? I went through the thread but I didn’t really understand what I can do.

try open your website with edge,
    I have the same problem

It’s because of you haven’t added links with social icons. Add a link or just a #. It will work fine.
