So this one is tough one I think.

At the bottom of every article there’s the author information, which populates its links/social media fields from the standard WP subscriber/member profile, then on the other hand there is the UM member profile which does not.

So when a new member signs up and enters the url of say his twitter account in UM https://www.twitter.com/exampleaccount That doesnt get populated correctly in the defaul profile, because the default profile field for twitter needs only a user name (like exampleaccount).

So if i ask my members to only put in their twitter usernames in their UM profile, then the author info. box at the bottom of the article will link to their accounts properly, but when someone looks at their UM profile, it wont link properly.

Or I can ask them to enter their url, but then the autho info box wont link correctly.

I hope I explained the issue well.

UM is using its custom fields for that, you’d need to integrate the fields you need to integration manually to sync them with other fields you use for author box.

    Thanks!

No, you have to use code (UM has lot of actions) to sync a change that happens on a specific UM field with whatever you want to do ??

well after playing around some (I can’t code). I noticed that your social media icon links (the ones that you can select to be shown in the profile heading DO use the default WP social link meta/settings, so i just removed the links from the profile body and am only displaying the social link profile icons in the header.
