• Hi guys,

I own a good blogging website [ redundant link removed ] where I post my recipes. Also, I have an Android app in the process of development.

I have noticed in many apps where we can directly login through our Facebook or Google accounts. I find this to be a very cool feature and was thinking why don’t I include this in my website and Android app as well.

First, I would like to create a user registration and login form with a nice looking interface and also include social login option. So I setup Facebook and Google API using nextend social login plugin. It is working fine. When I try to login to my wordpress dashboard, the Facebook and Google option is available and it works. I want to do the same with my user registration and login forms.

Next, in future I want to start with newsletters and would like provide an option to subscribe to newsletters while registering. I would like to use email marketing tools. It’ll be great if you could suggest me a nice email marketing for free. As I’m a beginner, I would like to use free one.

Is there a way to do social login with gravity forms? Or if there is any other way to setup social login, kindly help.

Can you suggest me a free email marketing tool and a tutorial on how to setup and connect to my website user emails automatically?

Hot tip: Avoid being the first to reply to your own topic. One, it’s considered to be “bumping”, which is highly discouraged here. In some forums bumping puts your topic back near the top of the list. That doesn’t work here anyway. I don’t think that was your intent since you posted a reply 5 min after your OP. FYI, you can edit your OP for about 30 min after posting.

Aside from not bumping, the real reason you need to avoid being the first reply is it kicks your topic off the “no replies” view which most of the regular members here use to find those still needing help. Regulars here are in the best position to help you, by “bumping” or whatever your intent was, your topic got moved out of their usual view.

I believe mailchimp and constant contact to be a couple of the most popular email marketing services. There are many more, search for “email marketing” for others. Typically newsletter sign up is merely a matter of placing a certain link on your site that leads to the service’s sign up form.

I’m not familiar with social login plugins. If users can login that way, it seems to me they’d be registered users on your site. Is the user’s email available that way? Or is there another step needed after login to collect that sort of data? For the purposes of email marketing, you don’t really need an email address, it is asked for when users sign up for the newsletter through mailchimp or whichever service. The service maintains a mailing list for you that’s separate from your site’s data.

See Customizing the Login Form. Near the bottom is how you can create your own login page, but I recommend trying to modify the existing page as suggested in the link if you can make it work that way.

For compatibility with gravity forms, I suggest you ask through their dedicated support forum where those really familiar with the plugin can most accurately answer your question.
