Social Media Block Doesn’t Exist

Greetings!

I was reading about how to incorporate social media icons on a site – the widget I currently have seems to be rather old and doesn’t include some popular platforms like Instagram that I am currently. In my research, there is an article about using a Social Media Block but, when I follow the instructions to search for the SM option, it’s not there. So, somehow the information is incomplete. Perhaps I still need a widget? Or if the block doesn’t work, what is the most current plug-in?
