Social media buttons and academia.edu

We’ve been using icons from Font Awesome, but I could add an image just for Academia.edu.

To make sure we’re on the same page, this is the right logo?

This is a very kind offer. That is indeed the icon traditionally found on their website (though I must admit I’m not sure if other sites use it as a ‘button’ logo or not…)

It would just be great to have a way to link to academia.edu profiles on my site if possible.

So I added the icon, but it’s not looking that great. It’s a shrunk down jpg rather than a professionally made icon, so it stands out a bit. Example screenshot of icon.

How do you feel about using this graduation cap icon instead?

I’ve left it out for now, but will add it back in based on your feedback.

I see what you mean. The grad cap might sit better next to the existing buttons than the book icon. Whichever you think works best with the theme. Would just be great to be able to link to an academia.edu account alongside my other social media accounts if possible.

Version 1.32 is under review now, but version 1.33 of Ignite will include the graduation cap and option to link to academia.edu.
