Hi there, I’m thinking of downloading Olsen light for my blog, but before I do I just had a couple of quick questions. I notice the social media icons that are built into the theme don’t include Instagram, will there be a way for me to add that?

Also, will the free theme allow me to change the secondary color or any other colors?

    Thanks!

  • I was asking the same question yesterday!I want to remove Tweeter and Google+ icons and add Instagram icon.
You can change all colors from the source code only, if you are willing to play with it!
    This is my change:

    Hello and happy new year!

My guess is that you are talking about the sharing buttons below the posts. These buttons allow you to share the posts to the corresponding social network. Instagram does not allow this, there is no option to share to Instagram, content can only be uploaded via their app. Due to this restriction I’m afraid you can’t add an Instagram icon there because it would not do anything.

However you can create links to all your major social profiles by going to Customize > Social Networks and filling in the information. Then you can use the Social Icons widget provided by the theme to display them on the sidebar.

Hi there and thanks so much for answering that! Everything is great with the theme, but I have one additional quesiton.

What are the dimensions required for the feature photo of each post? When I set my featured image it comes up as a thumbnail size but I’d like it to take up the width of the post instead. So when I upload it, it’s just a little square rather than a full-sized image. And this is what you see when you look at the homepage and see the posts with summaries. Hopefully that made sense!

    Hi there @steinhm

The minimum recommended images sizes for Olsen Light are: (https://www.cssigniter.com/docs/olsen-light/)
    Post thumbnail: 665x435px
    About me thumb: 200x200px

This means any image larger than 665x435px will be cropped to fit. I am guessing you want to make your featured image full width?

If you want to change the image dimensions follow this thread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/featured-image-sizing-1/

I do not know how to directly message anyone but I have a major issue. I downloaded the Olsen light and have been working on it for a few days. Last night I upgraded to PRO. I waited the half hour for the email for the upgrade but never got it. I sent two emails for support, no one got back to me. Tonight when trying to go to my website nothing is working. It will only connect when you put /home/ at the end of my website. I should be able to connect with just jewelsgriffin.com I spent 3 hours on the phone with hostgator. They escalated this until there was no where else to go. They deactivated and reactivated and tried so many things. They suggested I reach out to you for help. I am really annoyed that your website says 24/7 support but no one has gotten back to me, I can’t find a number to call AND something I paid for last night still hasn’t shown up. Please help! 267 259 4763. [email protected]
