    Hello,

Got a problem with this theme’s translation to Polish. I have .mo and .po pl_PL files in wp-content/languages, they were delivered with the theme and it’s all in Polish. However, a few words remain in English and that’s what I would like to change but any topic here nor support files answer how to change:
    – the “FOLLOW” sign in the upper left corner, the one with the social media icons next to it
    – after hovering over those social media icons, an alt text appears also in English e.g. “Follow us on Facebook” and simultaneously a “comment” appears with the same text
    – the tabs in the left sidebar: you can switch between recent and popular posts as well as recent comments and tags – this also appears in English when hovered over with a mouse.

Is there any way to change those by myself to Polish – simply translate them?

  • Hi,

You can use Poedit software to open up the po file.
Update the strings in the po file and do the translation.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Thanks Denzel Chia. I’ve already had gone through the .po files in the Poedit and it seems the English words in question do not appear there (neither as translated to Polish nor as non-translated separate English words). Tried to find them manually and using CTRL+F but without result. I have no clue where to search for those “follow”, “popular posts” etc., and one more came along – “BY … · PUBLISHED 6 LIPCA 2016 · UPDATED 7 LIPCA 2016” – need to find this one as well. The month’s name “LIPCA” means “july”, so that works by default, but the rest of the sentence remains untranslated and nowhere to be found.

    Help!

    Thanks.

    Hi archdelux,

    “Follow” – Appearance / Editor / sidebar.php
“Follow us on Facebook” – Personalizacja / Global settings / Social links
    “Recent Posts” – /wp-content/themes/hueman/functions/widgets/alx-tabs.php
    “BY”, “PUBLISHED” – Appearance / Editor / single-author-date.php

More examples on my blog: https://gracz.org/ ??

    Pozdrawiam!
    Adrian

Thanks Makabe. I see you are running this theme and it seems mint!

We seem to be on track now, but as I’ve found the .php file in the /wp-content/themes/hueman/functions/widgets/alx-tabs.php directory, which as I understand I simply need to edit and change what I need to Polish, I still do not know where to find the remaining directories you posted – I do not see them in the WordPress’es directory.

Are they maybe somewhere to be found when editing a single pl_PL file in Poedit or are they separate files I can find and edit through eg. Notepad, as the one I mentioned above?

    Thanks.

This files can be found in admin panel in section Appearance / Editor
    (Panel WP / Wygl?d / Edytor).

If you want to edit this files manually, you can simply find them in Hueman theme folder in your WP directory (wp-content / themes / hueman).

This files can be found in admin panel in section Appearance / Editor

If you edit the files using the Editor, or directly in the theme folder, you will lose all your modifications when the theme is updated. You should be using a child theme. If you’re not, follow the instructions here:
    https://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/239-using-a-child-theme-with-hueman
Then copy the theme files to your child theme directory and edit them there. In the case of alx-tabs.php you need to create the same subdirectory structure in your child theme and copy the file there.

If you edit the files using the Editor, or directly in the theme folder, you will lose all your modifications when the theme is updated

    Ok, and so what? ??
I don’t update the theme, because for me the most stable version is 2.2.3 (from Alex) + my own modifications. The new version have too many bugs.

    Ok, and so what? ??

Eventually you will run into an incompatibility with a WP upgrade.
