• Hi guys,
I’m developing an aggregating site . I have used FWP to get feeds and show as posts, which is working well. I
I have tried installing many social share plusgins but the share buttons dont seem to be displayed below any posts. Could you help me in fixing this?

I have used most of the popular social share plugins but none seem to work.

  • When you make your own posts are the share icons displaying?

Just to understand if this problem is related to the way you are getting the content or just that you are not configuring the share plugin correctly.

If they are not displaying for any posts then it’s probably just a configuration issue.

Which plugin are you using? I’ve used a few and generally found there are 2 lots of settings I had to make.

One to say add social icons to a post (and often to specify whether at the top or bottom) and then a second tab where you specify which icons to include.

So even if you specify to include icons using the first setting, until you tick boxes next to some of them, nothing will actually show.

Hope this answers what you were asking.

    Hi Joel,

I tried a number of them, but none worked.. I followed you suggestion and turns out the social share plugin are not working for posts that i’m aggregating, but it is working for the posts I create. Do you know why this might be?

To add to my previous response, I’m using FeedWordPress to aggregate feeds.

    Hi Manil

No I’m afraid I cannot help you with this further but having that piece of information is useful as it shows that the problem is specific to the FeedWord aggregation rather than the social share plugins you are using themselves.

Yeah, the plugin seems to be the problem. However, this is the only plugin i could find that does its job well, so ill have to figure out a way around this problem

Best way to do it is to put the, say you are using ADD this, code into the meta template of your theme. I have had to do this on my site.
