social network icons (Google Scholar, Orcid, Researchgate,…)

There’s no easy method to apply custom social icons. I have added the three mentioned in your post so that they will be available in the next maintenance release.

I still do not see research gate in my social media icons..and would also love to see “google scholar”. Is there any way these can be added??

Please navigate to the Connections Settings admin page, click the Fieldset Config tab, and scroll down to the Social Media section.

Click the Add button, click the icon, and click the icon dropdown arrow in the pop-up. Start typing “scholar” or “research” and choose the correct icon and icon color. Exit the pop-up, ensure the social network checkbox is checked, and the Social Network name field is filled in. Repeat for each social network and save the changes.

Thanks for your reply,…but I do not have a connections settings admin page? I have just one wordpress site (theme Neve) and in settings only the “general/read/write/ etc..”

Hmmm… These social network icons are only available for directory entries when the Connections Business Directory plugin is installed.

It does not sound like you have it installed or want it installed. Instead, you want those social network icons to be used on a page or something, correct?

If it is, sorry, but I am unable to help you find a solution for that with one exception — if you are using the WordPress Block Editor for your pages and posts, you could try using the Icon Block plugin. You can insert custom SVG icons using it.
