Deactivate the plugin, then you can roll it back. It’s always safer to deactivate plugins before changing things in the backend.
To roll it back you need to go back to your back up copy of your site and replace the updated plugin file with the prior one. You can do it via FTP or with the help of your host.
The plugin sits in the wp-content/plugins/social-pug folder of your site’s directory. Social pug is what this plugin used to be called before Mediavine bought them. Not sure why they still use the old name in the actual folder name.
If you don’t have a back up file, then try contacting Mediavine directly to get the prior version of the plugin.
Finally, if you’re using an optimization plugin like Autoptimize or WP Rocket, follow the instructions the developer posted to check it that plugin isn’t causing the issue. In my case, that didn’t resolve the issue, but it might for you. Good luck.
