These values should be pulled from the article Open Graph protocol properties defined on your page. An article author is defined by article:author linking to a profile page.

Are you sharing a standard post or is it possible you shared a custom post type that does not support an author?

The Facebook plugin for WordPress generates an article:author property pointing to the author URL (see get_author_posts_url) for the current post. The plugin outputs profile information such as first name, last name, and a display name when an author URL is requested.

Check your post type supports authors. Does your site include a URL for each author? Do your authors have a first name, last name, and a display name associated with their WordPress user account?

I’m not sure exactly how to tell what “post type” it is. It’s a regular post as far as I know and it’s NOT a page. I’m going to POSTS > ADD NEW and just publishing from there on a pretty new WordPress installation. I didn’t create any custom page types.

When I used the Facebook application to scrape my site, the resulting code appears to recognize me as an author and it did see the Author URL. I tested by lowering my role to “Author” instead of “Administrator” but it didn’t change the blank field when posting to Facebook.
