Social sharing idividul events issue

  • I’ve hunted around but can’t find a solution to this:

    I’d like site visitors to be able to share each ‘Single Event Page’ on their favourite social network.

    However currently when the social buttons that I’ve placed on each ‘single event page’ are clicked only the URL of the main ‘Event List Page’ is shared.

    The permalink changes in my address bar on every ‘single event page’ so I don’t see why this isn’t passed on.

    I’ve tried several WP sharing plugins and also directly pasted sharing code from ADDTHIS on to the event pages with no success (though all my other non-event pages/post will ‘share’ fine). I hope I’ve explained this clearly and someone can help.

    could it be you updated another plugin and a js conflict arose from it?

    I’ve tried everything but’s still not working ??

    since events are becoming posts (beta already out), things like sociable will work so no point tackling this in v4 anymore.

    i keep making this mistake, events will become custom post types, not posts

    hoping within a week or so, a second beta is coming out later today which should be pretty stable for upgrading (if you’re not a newbie).

    Is there a way that the events show up as regular posts on the home page?

    Need to investigate that, don’t think WP by default shows anything other than posts by default. I think you need to modify your theme for this (or maybe there’s a plugin that does this?)

    btw, just released the second beta a few mins ago, big improvements, check it out!

    also the events don’t show up with the start date order, they’re all mixed up :S

    the events on the sidebar widget don’t show up ordered by start date (even if I set up the settings), they’re all mixed up :S

    pls open up new forum topics and mention those there (add it’s the beta so we don’t get mixed up)

    there’s a few kinks to sort out (see the solution i gave to another issu someone else posted on this forum for 404s on location pages)
