Sofort Payment option removal

    I see there is a new payment option I am now fielding calls about. My clients are alarmed thinking their websites have been hacked.

    How can I turn off or remove Sofort payment option? I can’t see any option in Woocommerce?

  • Hello,

    Payment methods can be turned on or off in WooCommerce > Settings > Payments. Do you see the Sofort option and turn it off? If not, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    other than a few plugins out of date, any answer to this question of removal of the Sofort payment option?

    I took a look at your SSR but could not find a Sofort plugin. Further, on your checkout page, I was not able to see a Sofort payment option. I took a screenshot for reference: https://snipboard.io/IKnlH7.jpg

    interesting enough I can see it on 2 different browsers? There is no mention of the Sofort plugin but even after clearing the cache it’s still there…

    Thanks for getting back.

    On my end, I still do not see the Sofort option. Here’s a full-page screenshot I just took of the checkout page: https://snipboard.io/tOhILV.jpg

    Could you try purging cache from your WP Rocket plugin, clearing cache from your browsers again, then opening the checkout page to see if the Sofort option is removed? You can also opt to view the checkout page from an incognito/private browser window.

    This is weird…. Cleared browser cache, and WP Rocket cache I can still see it in any browser.
    If I use Tor Browser it sets my ip to Austria I see other options?

    Looking at the code it’s related to paypal so I turned off the WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway Version 2.1.1 plugin | By WooCommerce and it disappeared.

    Hi there!

    Thank you for following up on that. If you’d still like to use PayPal Checkout and just disable the Sofort funding method, you can access WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal Checkout and select that under all instances of Hide funding methods.
