• Holy bleep. I wish all plugins were supported like this one.

This extension worked awesome with FooGallery using Social Gallery as my lightbox. It did require some configuration to get it just right, as there are a lot of options. But the results were worthwhile.

I have a really unwieldy number of photos and was able to set up Owl Carousel to load many small thumbnail strips on one page, each easily accessing a huge gallery, thus getting a lot of galleries on a page without too bad of a performance hit.

Owl is smart enough to pick up the fact that I regenerated my thumbnails to the size I set for my gallery thumbnails, so it isn’t loading huge images and using the browser to size them down.

I had an issue that Rocket Lazy Loader doesn’t play nice with Owl, but Matt was a great help and looked at my page in no time at all. I guess he also helps with FooGallery because he also added my feature request in like, a day. Who does that?

Instructions if you have the same problem over on Rocket Lazy Loader’s support forum.

So now it’s easy to set up one FooGallery with all the Owl settings you want, pick the one you set up as the default, then blast through uploading a bunch of galleries without having to click a bunch of options for each gallery. I hate clicking the same thing over and over, and I like saving time.

All in all, the combo of Foo and Owl created a great photo site for my customers.

If I could have one thing it would be to have a variable width container for portrait images for when the gallery is at a set height. As it is, the occasional portrait image appears in the left of a wide container. Failing that, it could be in the centre of the container. But that’s just my OCD triathlete side talking.

    Well done.
