Solid, unique, and fun

  • The Airl theme is a solid theme with a fun and clean look and feel. It’s nice if you want a website/blog that features certain posts on the main page out of the box. This alone saves you a good bit of time when setting up a new site that needs this type of feature/layout.

    It does help if you’ve used WordPress before so you understand some basics like how categories work, and how to set them up to work with the featured posts sections in this theme. It’s not difficult; you create categories then in the settings tell the theme which categories to show in certain sections.

    As with most themes (especially free themes) if you need something very fancy this theme probably won’t do it out of the box. But, that’s where plugins or custom coding come in. This theme gives you a beautiful foundation to build on and that’s all I ever expect from free themes.

    And/or, check out this theme author’s other themes if you don’t love this one. They’ve created many very nice themes. I don’t know them, and wasn’t paid or asked to say this. I just saw a slightly low rating and didn’t think it was fair to leave this theme out there with just one low-ish review rating. I know how much effort goes into making themes and plugins. A lot (to say the least).

    So, in my professional WordPress opinion (I’ve used WordPress off and on since about 2005), this theme gets 5 stars.
