Like a lot of others here, I too have suffered from this plugin killing my connection with Google Analytics after version 2.0.0

Unfortunately it took me this long to have time to investigate why my Google Ads stopped getting conversions. My ROAS percentages dropped to shite and I struggled to find the cause until today I found out my whole GA4 had not received much data since March 6th.

I spent a couple hours trying to troubleshoot and wondering why GTM preview mode works perfectly but my site doesn’t. Well after coming to this support forum I had an immediate relief as I saw others with the same issue.

Not because I enjoyed others suffering like me but because I knew how to fix it now!

So anyone still struggling with this and who doesn’t have backups or doesn’t want to revert to a backup, just install this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/ and roll back your Google Analytics for WooCommerce to version 1.8.14 and it will all be fixed!

My GA4 started to collect data again immediately and I started seeing people in the real-time dashboard immediately after rolling back.

Note: Take backup of your site before rolling back the plugin version. It shouldn’t break anything as it’s just changing the plugin files which is already broken for you.

I have no clue how it’s possible that this sort of mess-up is getting released and it’s taking weeks to fix…

I actually lost real money because of this mess up. As my Google Ads automatically does bidding based on conversions from GA4 and now I haven’t had conversions for almost two weeks…

    Hey @jussipv,

So anyone still struggling with this and who doesn’t have backups or doesn’t want to revert to a backup, just install this plugin:?https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/?and roll back your Google Analytics for WooCommerce to version 1.8.14 and it will all be fixed!

Thanks for sharing details of the problem you’re facing and confirming that reverting to 1.8.14 fixed the issue.

We are currently working on an update to resolve conflicts between Google Analytics for WooCommerce and other plugins so that the extension is reliable regardless of site configuration. Apologies for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while we resolve the issues. We’ll update this thread when the fix is released.

You don’t need to install an extra plugin to roll back to 1.8.14 – just go to the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin page:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-google-analytics-integration/

Go to “Advance View” and at the bottom you can choose previous versions of the plugin. Just install and overwrite the current version on your site as usual. Kinsta has a simple guide on how to do this:

My analytics is working again a few minutes ago after doing this.

Sure. You could also debug the plugin and fix the issue yourself. Or switch to another plugin. Or make your own custom implementation. There’s plenty of ways to fix this issue.

I’ve found installing the WP Rollback plugin to be very useful, quick to use and reliable. Regarding all plugins and not just this one. I don’t see any negative sides in installing a new plugin if it makes your life easier ??

No worries, I’m just saying the above is the easiest way to fix this problem. A lot of people don’t like installing unnecessary plugins.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for sharing that!

I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Reverting back to 1.8.14 made the tracking work again somewhat. It recorded visitors and page_view events but it didn’t record view_item_list events nor purchase events anymore which made it useless for me as I need those events to optimize my Google Ads spending.

I switched to GTM4WP and followed this guide to set up enhanced tracking: https://gtm4wp.com/google-tag-manager-for-woocommerce/how-to-setup-enhanced-ecommerce-tracking-google-analytics-4-ga4-version

Now I’m getting those events and conversions recorded fine again.

    Hi Jussipv,

I am having similar issues since updating and using Consent Mode V2.

Have you found GTM4WP works best? Are you using that alongside a cookie consent plugin?
