    Hi!

I’ve recently updated the plugin from 1.7.1 to the last version. Since I did that, I’ve noticed that some anchors in the table of contents are not working properly.

For example, in the page that I’ve linked, some anchors that are not working are: 2.1.1; 2.2.1; 3.1… and others. It’s weird, because other anchors seem to work fine, and I don’t know where the problem could be.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Please try removing the underlining on the headings.

Thanks for your fast reply. I did that in the underlined headings and it seems to work fine now. The other headings that weren’t working had symbols like & or -, removing them the problem is algo fixed.

    Thanks again! ??

Well, I’m afraid I spoke too soon… I’m seeing the problem in other posts, where there are not underlining or strange characters.

For example, in this page: https://mascotapro.com/areneros-para-gatos/

    Anchor 3.9 is not working, I don’t know why…

Also, this is a problem that I haven’t experienced (or at least I haven’t been aware of) before last update.

    Hi.
    I have the same problem.
After update to the latest version (2.0.4), I have a problem referencing H2 and more.
    H1 is ok.

My headings contain dashes at the beginning
    H1
    – H2
    – – H3
    – – – H4
    – – – – H5
    – – – – – H6
I add dashes to the beginning of the headline on purpose to make the headings in the text and the items in the content nicely distinguished.
(By the way: Could you add functionality to the plugin to automatically add hyphens before content items by level of Heading?)

    WordPress version – 5.3.2
Theme – GeneratePress with official Child theme
All plugins – are updated to latest version.
    PHP version – 7.1

Can the PHP version be a problem?

    Hi again!

I finally found what the problema was, apparently it wasn’t caused by this plugin (somehow, something was adding line breaks in some headings…). I had to solve it manually. I’ll set this topic as resolved.

    Thank you very much!

@franpu What was the problem and how did you solve it?

@ogi22 as I said, some line breaks were added in some headings (I honestly don’t know why), and that was causing that the anchors of the table of contents were not working for those headings.

Also, the anchors of the TOC weren’t working if the headings were including the symbols & or “, were underlined or had a hyphen with blank space at its left and right side.

I solved manually all this problems, took me a while but now it seems everything works fine.
