• I’m using the free WordPress platform, at WordPress, to learn the tool and do a proof of concept of my combination static web site and blog.
I’ve created a site (https://youreatruefriend.wordpress.com/) and chosen a template (Tarski).

My intent is to have a static home page with traditional web pages and a blog page ‘hanging’ off it.

In Settings>>Reading>> I’ve set Static to the About page and blog to the blog page.
The problem is that the menu structure has Home, About, and Blog where Home is pointed to another pager rather than stand alone content. Home and About then have the same content.
Is there a way to directly edit the Home page content and disassociated it from a separate, static page?

Also, how do you get rid of the Blogroll menu structure from a page?

Perhaps this is all dependent on the underlying template?
Thanks for any suggestions and help,
    -Eric

  • The Tarski Options page lets you select which pages appear in the nav bar.

Go to Admin->Appearance->Widgets and drag the Links widget out of the sidebars.
