Some characters break the translation

  • Now I added the following translation:

    Oferim dou? imagini ISO: una curent? ?i una anterioar?. ?n total, dou? versiuni (?n scopuri de rezerv? / stabilitate). Po?i verifica suma de control pentru oricare dintre acestea urmand leg?tura pentru desc?rcare. Urm?toarele sunt oglinzi de desc?rcare care con?in acelea?i fi?iere.

    but the text appears in English after I reload the page
    you can try it too ??

    Our volunteer translators are encountering an issue with translating when there are certain characters in the text such as ” or code. How can these be overcome? Cheers!

    Hi,

    This is indeed interesting, and is one of the reasons that the advanced parsing rules have a warning next to them (the other main reason would be xss)

    Normally when ” is stored in the db of wordpress it is html entity encoded, in your site’s case it does not seem to do so, and naturally all hell breaks loose.

    What can be done?
    1. avoid using ” and switch to other types of double quotes
    2. help me fix the parser in your case ??

    Hi,

    I will try to not use ” but would be great if this could be fixed in another way since we have hundreds of posts that may need this fix. Is there a way this can be fixed in another manner? Cheers!
