  • I have a like problem. Very useful and cool plugin. But in my shop I have a lot of product attributes when I do a search on a few that he finds nothing. With the settings very much and I spent a long time. Tell me how to solve the problem? Thanks in advance

    Hi Tim,

Can you elaborate on exactly what your issue is as clear as possible I didn’t get exactly what problem you were facing?

So, say you wanted to filter the word ‘hat’. That works OK for you? Then you mentioned this wouldn’t work if the word was next to a punctuation character? Is that correct?

Apologies if I didn’t fully understand your query.

Likewise @kompmsk. Can you explain in clearer terms what issues you are facing. I’m not really sure what the problem is in your case.

If you broke down the steps to reproduce the problem then I could look into it further.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hi David,
Thank you for the reply. When I filter out the word ‘hat’ it works great but as soon as I try to filter out ‘hat.’ or ‘hat?’ it doesn’t work. Maybe . and ? are php escape characters causing it not to work?

Examples of whole sentences I want to remove from posts:
    I don’t like that hat.
    Do you own that hat?

    Kind regards

    Hi Tim,

Just done a bit of testing and you can do this if you turn OFF strict filtering in plugin options.

Also, it’s worth bearing in mind that you can’t remove a whole sentence with a comma character (although you can remove other punctuation characters) as the comma character is used as a delimiter in the profanity keywords text box.

So, you could replace the following sentence:

    I don’t like that hat.

    But not this one:

I don’t like that hat, do you?

Note: This DOES works in the Pro version of WP Content Filter which I’m currently developing as it allows you to select a different delimiter character. The default is set to the pipe character ‘|’ so you can replace a whole sentence even with comma’s in!

It should be ready for release within a couple of weeks. ??

    Hi David,
Turning OFF strict filtering worked as you mentioned. I am not using it for swear words so have to be a bit more careful with the words I use.

Thank you for the fix. I hope the PRO version goes well. May good things come your way.

    Kind regards
    Tim
