• Installed Jetpack Comments several months ago and, until recently, was satisfied. Now having issues.

    When a reader submits a comment, WordPress pushes a notification to my phone. When I open the app on my phone, the comment disappears as though it was deleted.

    Also, I have Jetpack Comments set up to send an e-mail to notify me of comments, It does not.

    Hi there, everything appears just fine with your Jetpack connection to WordPress.com. However, I noticed that you are using an older version of Jetpack (2.4.2). Would you mind updating to the most recent version to see if that fixes the issue you are describing?

    Also, can you tell me what version of the app you are using on your phone, and what kind of phone it is?

    Version 3.8.1 on iPhone 4. Updating to new version of Jetpack now.

    The latest version of the app is 3.8.2. Can you update that as well, and let me know if you still have the same problem afterwards?

    Okay, it was been a few days with updates on both website and iPhone, and still having the same issue.

    Hi,

    I am not sure why this would be happening, so a few questions to start us off:

    1) are the comments actually deleting (if you visit the Comments section of your site’s Dashboard on a computer), or do they only appear to be deleted from the app?
    2) What settings do you have on your Settings -> Discussion page? Do they look like this? https://d.pr/i/fDuh
    3) have you checked your spam to see if the comments notifications are going there?

    The comments are deleting completely (do not show up in comments section).

    Settings >Discussions: E-mail me whenever: Anyone posts a comment. I do not have the box for “A comment is held for moderation” checked.

    Just Discovered (as I type this): They are going to the trash. What setting change do I need to avoid this?

    Can you tell me what other plugins you have installed on your site? I don’t think that this is being caused by the app necessarily.
