Having issue with mdocs displaying only some documents and not all. When I checked the File/Post status for each file both are set to Public and Publish. However, it is still not showing up. I can see all the files when in WordPress edit mode, but cannot see all when I am out of edit mode. Not sure what is causing it to only display some documents while others are not showing. This is mdocs version 3.4.6. Any ideas?

Just to add, all that I am getting when out of admin mode. “No files found in this folder”

However, if I am in edit mode as administrator, I can see all the documents.

Usually it is this setting, goto mDocs dashboard Options>Settings>Configuration Settings>File Options>Hide All Files or Hide All Files: (Non Members)

Check this settings and make sure both are off.

Yeah both of those are off and not checked. What is odd is that there are some file showing up and they are within sub folders just like the ones that do not display. So I thought that the option to hide sub folders was causing issue since that was checked. After unchecking, I can see the parent folder, but no sub folders or files inside either. Any other ideas?

There is another trick that some people have found works:

Select all the files in a folder, then click on the “Batch Edit” button, once the batch edit module is open simple click the save button.

Then try to view the files again.

I had tried that prior as well. Just opening the “Batch Edit” and selecting all the files under that folder and clicking on “Save”.

It is just strange that some files are showing within the same page while others do not show up. I cannot see anything different between these files. Would there be anything else outside of mdocs that may be causing issue? We also use DIVI Builder, but I don’t think that’s the cause of issue.

Here’s the other thing I found while playing. If go into edit mode and copy the direct location of the file and then log out of admin mode.

    1) The files that are visible when not in edit mode, if I put in the URL and it direct me to the file I can download it via WP File Download.

    2) The files that are not visible when not in edit mode, if I put in the URL and it direct me to the file, the system indicate I need to log in to download.

So seems like some permission issue with the files. Does mdocs create a directory where I can look at the permission of the files? I don’t think it’s a global setting but maybe folder or file specific setting because some folders shows the files while others do not if not in edit mode.

Yes mDocs does create a directory in the uploads folder, the name of the folder is called “mdocs” all mdocs files will be located there.

Thanks. Will take a look and see if there’s any permission issue there. Just odd some files we can see, while others we can’t. However, when in edit mode or logged into WordPress as subscriber, everything shows up.
