We are experiencing an issue where some, but not all, of our contact form submissions aren’t being recorded by WP Mail Logging in either the Successful or Failed sections.

This issue appeared after we implemented WP Mail SMTP lite with Google APIs SMTP. These same submissions are do not seem to be being sent out at all and I have also reached out in the WP Mail SMTP forums.

We use Constant Contacts form plugin for specific reasons.

Trying to figure out why these submissions aren’t being logged even as Failed submissions.

    Thank you.

    Hi there @thekatbrady,

It sounds like your form might be bypassing our plugin, but I can’t say for certain. Can you let me know if you’re using a connected Constant Contact account with the Constant Contact form plugin?

It is odd that this issue isn’t consistent. The emails that are not being recorded, are they still being delivered? If you can let us know, that should help.

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

Apologies for the delay before; busy time.

Yes, our Constant Contact plugin is connected properly to a Constant Contact account. There is also an option with this plugin to receive receipts of the form submissions. Those receipts are what are being recorded some times and not at other times.

Typically, the receipts are being recorded whenever we successfully receive one by email. We are having a separate issue where we don’t always receive those receipts (which began after we set up WP Mail SMTP) and we are trying to debug the issue. When that happens, the emails aren’t showing up the the WP Mail Logging database as either Failed or Successful.

As WP Mail Logging should be recording errors as well as successes this seems a bit weird.

Potentially related: We have also activated WP Mail SMTP’s debug log and have caught a few instances where WP Mail SMTP was not able to connect to our Google SMTP server. Those events were not caught by WP Mail Logging but there’s no way to be certain that they are connected.
