    Here’s a weird one:

I have a grouped calendar on this page: https://newsite.penfieldboosterclub.org/events/. In that grouped calendar is a feed for “Boys Basketball”

On google calendar, every event for this calendar is showing correctly – correct dates and times. However, on my website, some of the events from this feed are showing correctly, some are not. The ones that are incorrect are being displayed on my website 24 hours late, and I can’t for the life of me, figure out why.

I have tried clearing cache’s on all the feeds, I have tried deleting the calendars in wordpress (the individual calendar and the grouped calendar) and re-creating them. Same issue every time.

    Any ideas?

    I just noticed something:

When I hover over the incorrect events, I notice that they have the CORRECT DATE on them! For example, there is a “Basketball: Boys Varsity” event that is being incorrectly shown on December 12, but when you click on it, it has the CORRECT DATE of December 11! Why would it be displaying it on December 12th??

Do you have the time zone set up correctly on your calendars? I think I read the developer mention in another topic that there might be a glitch currently with the “use calendar setting” option. Just in case, I ended up setting all of my time-zones manually and I haven’t had this problem yet.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Siren,

For the grouped calendar, I have “use site default” checked, and the time zone is correctly set in the wordpress general settings. For the individual basketball feed, I have “use event source” checked.

Whats weird tho is that the other events (freshman basketball, JV basketball), which are the SAME FEED – are all correct!

    @mburke79,

For the grouped calendar can you try switching it to use “custom” and set that to your timezone to see if it helps? I am investigating if there is a possible bug here.

    Thanks!

    Hi Nick,

Tried as you asked. Didn’t seem to have an effect. ??

Ok thanks will continue to look into it and see what else I can think of might be causing the issue.

Has there been any change for you in 3.0.11?

    Hi Nick,

    I’m currently getting this error:

“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1621930 bytes) in /home/phs_webadmin/newsite1/wp-includes/functions.php on line 429”

Where do you get that error at?

    Hi Nick,

I was getting that error this morning, but I’m not getting it now.

So first, the URL in question is: https://newsite.penfieldboosterclub.org/events/

I am still seeing the same errors after updating to 3.0.11. Lets focus on 2 dates on the calendar: January 5 – 6.

On January 5th, the events are correct except for the boys basketball events. Those events are being listed 5 hours earlier than they are listed on Google Calendar. The time zone is set for “Events Source Default” which is the same setting for the other calendar feeds, and they are showing up correctly.

On January 6th, and this is more alarming in my mind, there are events (ex: Ice Hockey: Varsity and Basketball: Girls Varsity) that are supposed to be on January 5th. If you click on the event, the date/time is correct, but it being displayed on the wrong day! Here is a screen shot: https://newsite.penfieldboosterclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/screenshot.png

I hope this information is helpful

    Is this a grouped calendar?

The time zone is set for “Events Source Default” which is the same setting for the other calendar feeds, and they are showing up correctly.

What if you change it to custom and set the correct timezone?

Here is a guide you can look through also: https://docs.simplecalendar.io/timezone-settings/

    Hi Nick,

Yes, this is a grouped Calendar.

You suggested in the past for me to change the specific calendar to custom, and that did not seem to have an effect. Did you want me to try and set the grouped calendar? Doesn’t seem like that would make a difference as most of the feeds are showing up correctly and they are all set the same way.

In the mean time, I am going to follow your guide and check the settings in Google Calendar for the feeds that are incorrect.

Looking forward to hearing back from you…

I doubled checked the settings on Google Calendar – they are correct.

Upon closer investigation, this morning all the feeds in the grouped calendar seem to have the correct dates and times on the events – so that is progress!

However – I am still seeing a large number of events – pertaining only to a select few calendars, where it is displaying the event on the wrong day. (ie, the event is displayed on January 8th but if you click on it, the date/time is for January 7th). This behavior is consistent, the incorrect events are always displayed one day later than they should be.
To make this more frustrating for you – I have noticed that it is not every event – that is to say that within a single feed, some events are displayed 100% correctly while other events in the same feed are displayed one day late.

    So bizarre!

That’s good there was some progress.

I did mean to try changing the grouped calendar’s timezone.

Are all the events that are off from the same calendar?

    (@mburke79)

No there are multiple calendars with incorrect events, but not all….some calendars are perfect.
