Some files are inactive

Looks to be a great plug-in but when I downloaded, installed and activated it the posts_loop_template.php file shows as inactive. I admit to being a newbie. I am trying to find a way to make the blog textareas be transparent. Several of the posts here suggest editing the posts_loop_template.php file. If I am successful in this editing will this work?
