    Hi Stephan,

I applied the new update this morning and some images aren’t displaying at all anymore. The problem is really inconsistent, but I’ll do my best to describe it.

Here is just a little bit of info about how I’m setting up my image galleries now. Hopefully it will help you to understand what’s going on. So, I no longer use the native WordPress Galleries function nor the JetPack Carousel — since WP 4.0 you can’t update image captions for galleries unless you do it via the media library, and then the same caption is applied to the image site-wide (which is no good if you want different captions for the same image). And I also realised that the JetPack Carousel isn’t responsive.

So, I decided to create my own custom galleries using the Lightbox Plus Colorbox plugin. I simply insert the the thumbnail images I want using the regular Add Media button, I use CSS to create a gallery-like grid of the thumbnails, and I set the correct class & rel to the images and image links to activate the lightbox effect for each gallery.

This system worked perfectly before the new update. Since the update, some of the thumbnails aren’t displaying at all, though the lightbox still works fine. For example, some galleries don’t have any images displaying at all, others only have the first image displaying, and others have a completely random image displaying within the gallery. All captions are visible, even when the image isn’t. When I click on visible images, the lightbox works perfectly and I can scroll just fine through all the images in that gallery (even the ones that aren’t displaying on the page).

Remember, these are all just regular thumbnail-sized images inserted via Add Media, so Responsify WP isn’t even supposed to affect them since they’re already the smallest size available. That makes the randomness of which images are working especially confusing to me!

I’ve deactivated the plugin for now and all is back to normal, so the last update is definitely what’s causing this. I hope you can help!

    Thanks very much!

Hi Julie! Nice to have users that you can count on when it comes to reporting bugs ??
Which markup pattern have you selected? img? In that case, have you tried changing to picture instead?

    Hi Stefan,

Sorry for the misspelling earlier!! I was using picture before. Now I’ve switched to img and everything works great! I totally forgot those settings exist — wish I’d remembered before I posted that long explanation! Lol!

    Thanks for your help!

No problem, I guess that’s how my name’s spelled in english ??

Oh, I thought it was img that was the problem since it’s new to this version! But it should of course work with picture and span as well.
Can you check if the class and rel attributes that you added yourself are getting passed on to picture? My guess is that it has something to do with that.

Wait, I found a bug that was causing the picture element to not work if it was selected before 1.6.0!
I uploaded 1.6.1 now which fixes the problem. I believe it would fix your problem to!

Lol — actually, it’s how I would spell it in French ??

I just applied the new update and tested the site out with both img and picture — both work great ??

    Double resolved! Good job!!
