    Hi there,

First of all, thanks a lot for this wonderful plugin, it really is what I’ve been looking for, especially the level of customization it has and the number of social media you can share to.

I installed this plugin after I updated my website to WordPress 3.5.2 and now the yellow alert at the top that says “Your Simple Share Buttons need configuration before they will appear. View the tutorial video here” won’t go away even though I did configure the plugin.

I wouldn’t mind the alert staying at the top if it didn’t cause any trouble, but it seems to interfere with basically everything I try to do in the admin. I try creating a post or a page, or just simply upload files to the media library and upon clicking Publish/Update or any other action it takes me to a blank page containing only the alert message above with absolutely no style (plain Times New Roman) and after I click back the post/page is not created, or the media file is not uploaded.

Is this a known issue with WP3.5.2 as I can’t seem to find anything in the support forum.

Thank a lot and keep up the good work

    Hi,

Sorry to hear it’s causing problems since your update.

Could you please confirm that you have dragged/dropped buttons from available to selected?

This is the part of code that runs and outputs the message:

// check if any buttons have been selected
    if ($arrSettings['ssba_selected_buttons'] == '' && $_GET['page'] != 'simple-share-buttons-adder')

Which basically just has a quick check if there are some selected share buttons, the message is then output.

Perhaps try moving them around and back to where you want and then saving again?

If that doesn’t resolve the problem I’ll provide you with an edited php file which will get rid of it.

    Thanks,

    David

Thank you David for your reply,

It was actually a problem with the WordPress installation itself, as I started experiencing some weird issues with other plugins as well.

I re-installed WP from scratch and I confirm, your plugin works flawlessly with WP3.5.2, not a single issue after the clean install.

I’m going to mark this thread as resolved, as it wasn’t the plugin that was causing the trouble after all.

Thanks a lot once more, your devotion to supporting this plugin is more than admirable.

    Best regards,
    Stavros
