• Hi,

I moved my blog to subdirectory so that I can use static html welcome page in root. Everything went fine, except that some links are broken. There is “Previous posts” link on the blog bottom, and it returns “Not Found” error.

    Site structure is this:

    Url: https://www.bioteka.lv
    .htaccess – in root folder
/bioteka/ – html welcome page (WP used to live here before)
/bioteka/lv/ – WP is here now.

This “Previous posts” link should be like this:
    https://www.bioteka.lv/lv/index.php?paged=2

but for some reason shows this:

    https://www.bioteka.lv/lv/bioteka/lv/index.php?paged=2

    and obviously does not work.
Is there a way to fix this? Could not find in search…

    Thank you very much!

  • Are you using custom permalinks? Check your permalink structure.

    Thanks for answering.

Hmmm.. Miscellanous Options are about file uploads…
But in General options WordPress address and Blog address are the same: https://www.bioteka.lv/lv – and is correct.

“Previous posts” is the only link that does not work – all other links work correctly.

    Any ideas?…

No, I am not using custom permalinks.

And how possibly I can modify that one link to get it working properly?…

    Thank you.

    Bad luck… ??

Problem stil there and quite urgent… Will appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

Did you change the number of posts per page in the options? I had the same problem, I changed it from 4 posts per page to 6 posts per page, so it made the “end” number of page different.
It thought I still had more pages with posts, since it did before I changed the number of posts per page and then reduced the number of pages in that category by increasing the number of posts per page.

But, that is why I was getting the error.. yours might be completely different.

    Thanks for sharing info.

No, I did not change te number of posts per page. The problem appeared after I moved the blog to subdirectory.

This is the only link that does not work and was affected by changing the directories. Would I need to reinstall the blog again or is there some way to modify the link path?…

You might could check the configure.php and make sure that it is right as far as paths go…
or you may have to check in the database itself to make sur the paths are right there.

Hmmm.. where do I find configure.php?… Went through all the directories, could not find. There is only wp-config.php

Also checked the database, but could not find the entry which would be responsible for this…

    it might be wp-config
    i stand corrected.. sorry ??

It does not seem that in wp-config.php there are any entries that could change the situation… am I wrong?

Anyway – thanks for your time, estjohn! Any help is very much appreciated.

Can’t check your site until you deactivate Shortstat – your sites are timing out.

I can deactivate it – but won’t I lose accumulated statistics about search strings etc.?…

    Edit: done! Shortstat deactivated.

Both this site and your site time out because shortstat uses some other site that has been down for awhile. It should not be used until the other site is back up or Shortstat is fixed.

As for your problem, do you have this entered in both WP address and blog address in options:
    http://www.bioteka.lv/lv
