• Hi,

two more suggestions for Jetpack Subscriptions:

    * Please make it possible to NOT send articles to the e-mail subscribers. For example if the admin wants to publish a lot of new posts… Then it would be good to click on a check mark in the dashboard that the subscribers should not receive new posts.

    * Another suggestion: The possiblity to receive follow-up comments when the comment is not published. Because I saw that a comments subscription is not active when the person’s comment gets deleted or not published.

    thanks for reading and considering

  • I agree about publishing many new posts…I’m sure subscribers won’t appreciate getting an email for every single post when a blogger makes several posts the same day. It would be great if we (admins/bloggers) could set the frequency of emails to subscribers (once a week, daily, etc).

Yes, but also the possibility to not send new posts to the subscrobers.

Just an example: I’m translating my articles into another language and now I’ve got a lot of new posts to publish….. It would be better to publish them all and then send 1 article to the subscribers about the new posts in the other language.

Please make it possible to NOT send articles to the e-mail subscribers.

You can do so by going to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, and deactivating the Subscriptions module. You can enable it back later on once the post is published, and it won’t be sent to your subscribers.

We’re also considering adding a checkbox right above the Publish button, allowing you to disable subscriptions for a specific post without having to go to Jetpack Settings. You can follow our progress here:

Another suggestion: The possiblity to receive follow-up comments when the comment is not published. Because I saw that a comments subscription is not active when the person’s comment gets deleted or not published.

That could be a problem, though, because it would mean that we start sending these comment notification emails to all the spammers that try to leave a comment on your site, even if their comments are moderated or deleted.

Instead I’d prefer to add an option to all your readers to subscribe without commenting. We track that idea here:

    What do you think?

It would be great if we (admins/bloggers) could set the frequency of emails to subscribers (once a week, daily, etc).

At the moment, only the subscribers themselves can change delivery options, but I agree that it would be nice for site owners to define a default delivery option for their site. We track this suggestion here:

Feel free to subscribe to the issue to follow our progress on this!

Yes, that would be great! Can you please make it also possible on WordPress.com?

    Yes, sounds great

Thanks for the feedback! We can’t guarantee anything, but I’d recommend keeping an eye on the GitHub Issues that Jeremy linked to above. That way you can follow along with our progress.

Please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime!
