“Some of your payment fields are invalid.” error

    Hi,

    I installed plugin and connected to sandbox. Connection is successful.

    When trying to process payments, “Some of your payment fields are invalid.” error is generated (testing with credit card payment).

    Hi @rudolfl,

    What test card are you using? If it’s an Amex make sure you’re entering a cvv that’s 4 characters long.

    That was quick!

    When I tried to use 3-digit CCV with AMEX, appropriate error was displayed. This one is a generic one.

    What test card are you using when you get that error? I was able to process an order without any issues:

    Card: Visa 4111 1111 1111 1111
    Exp: 01/22
    Order #: 39379

    All Amex cards are going to fail in your case because you haven’t added American Express as an accepted payment method type for the merchant account associated with the store’s currency. This is the error I am getting when using Amex:

    There was an error processing your payment. Reason: Payment instrument type is not accepted by this merchant account.

    That’s why VISA and Mastercard work, because your merchant account is setup to process those instrument types. If you add Amex you won’t get that error. You can view which card brands you are configured to accept by logging in to Braintree Sandbox and going to Gear Icon > Business.

    I think you are right.

    I just learned that only US merchants have AMEX bundled into default setup.
    Australian businesses only get VISA and MasterCard. I have to specifically request AMEX. I do not even have an option to turn it on.

    In my account, it doe snot even show what cards I am accepting. I assumed it would be all, but looks like it not the case.
