Some older posts and pages blank in edit window, but content ok on website

  • We’ve noticed this issue about 3-4 months ago, but though it will maybe get solved with new WordPress update. 3.8 did not solve it and I am not sure from what version has the issue existed.

    Some older posts (generally created beginning 2012 till mid 2013 and not all of them) had the entire Edit Post Text and Visual fields empty with character count at 0, but the posts that have been published before this issue started happening, were showing up fine on the website. The same thing happened to almost all Pages (I have 14 – some empty ones are from 2007 some from 2012, some with text are from 2008 – there seems to be no rule).

    Drafted Pages seem to be fine, but the sample is too small too tell for sure.
    Drafted Posts with empty Edit window do not show any text on the website when trying to Preview.

    All Posts seem to have the Excerpt as it was originally – no matter if Published or Drafted only. The autosave versions are also empty. All other settings, Tags, Categories, Trackbacks, Custom Fields, uploaded images are fine.

    I haven’t discovered any correlation between the Author and Blank/Fine Post/Page….

    Tired disabling all plugins, no results. Even deleted some I was more comfortable with. No result.

    I have a custom template and all was running great for about a year.
