Some option fields on write posts gone

  • I am not actually sure if this is a WordPress problem or a plugin problem so I hope it is okay that I posted it on this forum as well as the plugins and hacks board.

    I am using version 2.6.5 of WordPress. I have a number of plugins but there are two that I am particularily asking about in this post. One is WP-Sticky and the other is PodPress. Both have been in and working just fine. They both still show up on my plugin page and both still show as activated.

    Yesterday I made some changes on the site…nothing in the settings, only text on already established pages. Sometime during that time, I noticed that the options to use both of those plugins on the bottom of the post were gone. I also noticed other things missing that used to be there, like allowing pings and trackbacks, etc. Right now all that shows up on my Write post page are the fields for Title, post, tags, and categories. On my tool bar, it will sometimes, but not always, say “Error on page” and gives that yellow triangle that it gives with that kind of message.

    Does anyone have any idea what happened or how I can fix it? Nothing is any different in my WP settings or in either of these plugin settings. I don’t know how to get the stuff back. Please help.

    I am hoping that adding this information can help anyone that can or is willing to help me. I thought that maybe the problem was due to my changing text in some older posts, so I took the last post that I changed yesterday and restored it to an older date. When I did that, all fields came back. So I manually typed the new text into the post this time because I heard that WP is touchy with copy and paste. All I did was add some new text and take out some old. When I did that, poof, all fields were gone again and I can’t get them back this time even when I restore to an earlier date. Can anybody please help me?

    I am not understanding this at all. I got it all back by deleting the post that I had put in yesterday. Then I walked away for the day. I just came back and was going to do a post and it was all gone again. I did nothing on the site in between. Everything is cut off from catagories down. Is this a WordPress problem by any chance? Is there some way that I can resolve this? I can’t do my posts the way I want until this is resolved. I can’t even upload any media. Can anybody help me please?
