Some players work on search and blog pages

These options were partially broken but have just been fixed in version 2.2 which is up now!

Players should show ok now on any index type page (blog index, categories, archives, searches) but note that most themes only use excerpts on these pages. In this case you’ll need to tick the option for excerpts under advanced settings, and manually write the excerpt adding in your shortcodes. There is no support for automatically generated excerpts, they must be manually written.

None of this applies to widgets, though the bug that has just been fixed could cause issues with widgets in some cases.

Let me know if all seems ok with the new version.

Just updated the plugin and am getting very odd results still on blog page and search page returns. On the blog page, the mp3 player shows but still does not work unless the single post link is followed.
On search results page, the mp3’s are scrambled. The first instance of the player works but contains the incorrect file. Follow the link tot he single post and the correct file is indeed in the player.
Also, the first search result fills a playlist with mp3’s not included in that playlist player on the single page.

There is no Feb. 17 post of an audio gallery, which appears as the first result. I added an audio gallery page (https://www.911truth.org/911truth-audio-gallery/) but the contents of that playlist differ from the playlist that appears as the first post in the search results.

I have turned on debug.
I have used {audio} {mp3-jplayer track=], etc. I have tried multiple approached with the same results.

Does the page need re-caching? I can’t see the debug.

Just deleted cache.
When you search .mp3, the first result (desktop ONLY) still shows a playlist that was never created.

If you are looking on a mobile device, you will not see the issues.

I verified that debug has been checked, saved and the cache deleted.

6th result shows player for Bonnie Faulkner of Guns & Butter interviews Paul Zarembka but the mp3 cannot be played on the results page. One must follow the link to the single post for the player to load the mp3. (This only seems to happen if the mp3 is a link as opposed to hosted on our server.

Can you try un-ticking the ‘show players when full content is used’ option while leaving the show in excerpts ticked?

Basically the player shortcode is still triggering on your top post (the one just added which has a player right at the bottom of it’s page), but the resultant html and js isn’t actually output which is a problem. Are these auto excerpts or manually written?

Also I noticed a little ajax going on in your theme, fyi anything ajax’d in player-wise would not work.

Un-ticked show player when full content.

All auto excerpts, none manual.

Not really. I prefer the players to work on the search pages if possible. They did until the recent update to 2.1
