man I’m baffled, there was nothing in 2.1 that would have changed this behavior, certainly there was in 2.2 which fixed (or not!) a long standing error that’s been around possibly since 1.8. But I will look again at what I did this time and see if I can reproduce and get it to bug. Thanks for being patient.

Hello again, please could you try out the version below and let me know if it fixes things, there was a problem and hopefully it can’t happen now, the zip is here:

    MP3-jPlayer 2.2.1 (beta)

    Simon,
When I upload the zip file, I get an error: destination folder already exists.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Yes, you’ll need to deactivate then delete the current plugin before trying to upload the zip. Seems to be the way wp handles manual uploads.

Uploaded the beta. No change. The players do not load the audio unless one goes to the single post. The player shows but still fails to load the audio file in excerpts. Again, the excerpts are manual.

I meant to say, the excerpts are NOT manual.

Just for some clarity so we know what we’re trying to solve:

    – there is no support for having players in auto generated excerpts. There never has been and probably never will be.

    – If you want players in excerpts they must be manually written, and the option to allow them must be ticked (player’s settings page).

    – The issue was with the wrong playlist going into the wrong player on your index pages (when you were showing them). Is this fixed with the beta version?

..also, i’ve just looked again at your source, are you absolutely sure there’s no typos in your player entries?

There seems to be html and various bits of page content within your shortcodes.

    Thread Starter infotamer

    (@infotamer)

Player no longer shows on index pages at all, regardless of checkbox settings.

Players used to show and work in auto generated excerpts on index page.

Can you email/post a link to an example of a player with messed up html?

    view-source:https://www.911truth.org/?s=.mp3

line 897, the continue reading link ends up in the playlist.

line 979, this time the player js snippet gets a continue reading link.

My instinct would say errors in the editor somewhere, but of course i’m not sure, whatever the cause it will break the js and all players. So this needs to be fixed first. It looks like the beta has solved the original issue we were talking about. How are those 2 players added? can you post the shortcodes?

    Thread Starter infotamer

    (@infotamer)

Yes, it appears that the players now load the proper mp3 into the player with the exception of these links. for example:
    https://www.911truth.org/kevin-ryan-legitimate-911-suspects/
    https://www.911truth.org/the-boiling-frogs-presents-paul-thompson-part-iii/

The player appears but is empty. On the single post it loads and works properly. Interesting. Even after rearranging the player to move it away from where the automatic read more is inserted, the player, in these cases, does not load and, even though there is room for additional article text below the player, it never appears.

Thanks for getting it this far!!!

Those links work ok for me, but the ones on the search page still have continue reading being inserted and breaking them. Please let me know if all seems ok once they’re fixed.

    Thread Starter infotamer

    (@infotamer)

I have been moving the shortcodes further above the auto read more. Most work. Some work with the old shortcode track”” title””. Others seem to only work with newer format title@track

PS: They also now seem to work again on the index page after making these changes. See page 3 for example of index. Player now works on that page.

    (@infotamer)

For the most part now, it appears the auto read more break is causing the issue. As I move the players higher in the articles, that seems to make them work.

Great stuff, we got there in the end. The release will be out in a few hours.

ps Many thanks for your donation.
