  • Hi Hector, sorry couldn’t answer sooner. I have a screenshot here of my settings page https://temp.oxpal.com/wpp_tools.jpg (development version I just reinstalled).

So I’m really sure that the plugin counts views 4 times – tried it with several posts.

Probably not really related, but just in case: I also don’t see an option of showing the thumbnails. I do have featured posts (since recently, not at the moment of originally installing wpp), and phpinfo say’s GD is enabled.

The thumbnail issue you mention is probably related to this:

Requirements have changed as of WordPress Popular Posts 2.3.3. PHP 5.2+ and WordPress 3.0.0 are the minimum requirements to enable thumbnails. WordPress Popular Posts 2.3.2 and below require PHP 4.3 or higher. Also, the GD library must be installed and enabled by your host.

Could you check that with your host?

Like I mentioned, Phpinfo says “GD Support enabled” (and “GD Version bundled 2.0.34 compatible”). Doesn’t that mean the GD library is installed or is this something else? PHP is version 5.3 and WordPress is 3.5.1.

Updated to wpp 2.3.3 and still no option.

Installed, yes. Enabled, not necessarily. That’s why it’d be a good idea to ask your host about the GD library.

I’ve got an reaction from my provider: “GD is activated on your web-package and can be used at any time.”

What kind of library is wordpress using when scaling the featured image? That works on my site.
Anyways, it’s just a side-note. Would be nice if it works, but no priority for me. Thanks for replying.

Alright, since I’m really interested in stabilizing the thumbnail functionality I’ve got a proposal for you: is there any possibility to get access to your site to do some more testing?

Could you drop me a mail at ts at my domain (oxpal.com). Let me know what exactly you need and maybe I can figure it out.
I just pray now I din’t do any super stupid mistake so that it broke ??
