    Hi,

I’m unsure if this is working for me. Could you please provide a few examples of shortcodes that work in the Rank Math Title and/or Description fields that would not work without this plugin?

    Hi Matthias,

The plugin was made some time ago when Rank Math SEO was not supporting shortcodes out of the box. It was working without bugs and was helping to display shortcodes in title, description and schema.

I am not sure if the shortcodes are now supported in the new version of Rank Math SEO but if our plugin no longer works or if it is not needed we will not develop it and will withdraw it from www.ads-software.com soon.

Firstly I was testing with a shortcode with attributes ([my-shortcode attr1="val1"]) and the quotes were removed by the new version of Rank Math SEO which brought errors. But if the shortcode has no attributes e.g. [my-shortcode] and results in a plain text, it is displayed in the title, description, and/or schema. This plugin generally does the same think that Do Shortcodes for All in One SEO Pack and Do Shoertcodes for Yoast SEO were doing for their previous versions. I think all of them are now coded in a different way and our plugins no longer work with them as expected.

PS: [my-shortcode] can be any shortcode you use.

Thank you for your response. Yes, it seems that you can actually use %customfield[]% as well. I’m sure your plugin made a lot of sense when this wasn’t possible.

Please note that %customfield% is not a shortcode. If you are using a shortcode for current year or next year for example (like WP Date and Time Shortcode we are offering for free) then you can use the shortcode in the title, description, and schema which is not the same as custom fields offered by Rank Math SEO. You may also have shortcodes for product price, product features for keywords, etc. So the shortcode support for the SEO plugins is very much needed. Unfortunately none of the major SEO plugin offer it as a feature for now.

Unfortunately I do not have a screenshot to show you how the shortcodes improve the SEO work but here a sample one from the old version of All in One SEO Pack working with our plugin:
