• Hi folks.

I’m currently modifying the “Fluid 1.0” theme to suit my purposes, and trying to style it for my new layout. The work-in-progress can be seen at https://www.avalon5.com/wptest

I have run into a number of problems which I think are CSS related, and probably easy enough to sort out if you know CSS; which I dont ??

So here goes, and thanks in advance for any help you can offer…

    1) The site displays differently in IE7 vs FF; In IE7 the title is a dark colour, in FF the title is the lighter pink shade. How do I get this uniform between both IE7 and FF? (btw – I want the darker variety).

    2) I want underlines on hover-over-text and on visited-text in the content area of the page, but not on the headings/descriptions… I seem to have managed to get this working for both, but can’t seem to seperate out the headings. You can see examples of this if you click on any of the test articles and then return to it (it’s now underlined).

    3) I can’t seem to get the category count to display in my sidebar, even though I’ve followed the advice on the codex for the new wp_list_categories template tag. I’ve browsed other posts and threads, but nothing seems to work.

    4) When I call the wp_list_categories function it’s displaying a ‘categories’ title, which I don’t want – how can I get rid of this?

    5) Ditto for my links section (currently displaying ‘blogroll’).

    6) I can’t seem to get the items in the sidebar to line up. Look at Recent Posts or Recent Comments for example. The first lines/titles are ok, but the content of each (e.g. recent post title or recent comment) doesn’t line up in either IE7 or FF.

    7) Page Length; I’ve noticed that if I click into any particular article (try the one entitled “Checking lists…” for example) that the footer doesn’t display correctly because the content in the sidebars is ‘longer’ than the content in the main area. How can I ensure the footer is only displayed after both sidebars are rendered?

I’m sure these are probably really obvious solutions to some of you folks, but I’ve been staring at this all day and getting nowhere, so please do chip in if you can because I’d like to get this theme finished and launched ASAP for my main site https://www.avalon5.com

    Thanks a mil.

    Update:-

I’ve managed to sort out (by trial and error) item 6 so far by messing around with CSS options. Still trying to figure out the rest though.

    Update @ 13/02/07:-

I’ve managed to fix items 1, 2 and 6 … but I’m still trying to get the categories (count) issue and the lineup (in the sidebar for blogroll or cagetories) issue resolved.

Lastly – I can’t figure out how to correct the footer issue. Can anyone please help? These are the only things holding me up at the mo and I’d really like to release my new theme on my live site this weekend if possible.

OK – all now fixed except for the footer issue. Can anyone please advise me how to get the footer to display AFTER the content, nav and sidebars are finished?

    Add a clearer div
