I have been getting a ton of “User locked out from signing in” e-mails today, like hundreds. I have pretty strict rules in place on my Wordfence options to autoblock so I’m not entirely concerned, it’s just wayyyy more then usual.

It seems every minute or so I get 15 blocked logins – seems a little excessive, is there some sort of widespread brute force attack underway today? Or is it just me. Should I be concerned?

  • Hi

head over to our website (https://www.wordfence.com/) and watch attacks in real time on the home page. I see a huge increase of them since Tuesday so its possible your site is getting hit by them now. I would use it as a chance to make sure your passwords are secure, examine security settings, etc, kind of like a reminder to be diligent. You can limit those emails to any number you like an hour on the options page.
