    Hello,

we’re getting some stockists not showing up on products that they should be. I have no idea where to start as a lot of them are working but for some reason some of them aren’t.

The stockists that aren’t showing have had the category assigned to them as normal for the one’s that are working so I have no idea where to start debugging.

Could we get some help with this issue please?

    Thanks,

    James

    Hello James,

Could you send me screenshots with stockists that are not visible(stockist edit page, category edit page and public page)? No need to send all, 1-2 would be enough.

And add please link to the public page.

    Thanks,
    Dima

    Hi Dima,

do you mean the woocommerce category edit page or the stockist plugin one?

Where do you want me to send the screenshots? To this post? Or via email?

    Here you go…

This is one of the problem categories – https://i58.tinypic.com/11uho9u.jpg

Here is the stockist that is using that category – https://i57.tinypic.com/25swv7s.jpg

Here is the product on the front end – https://i61.tinypic.com/n6ru39.jpg

How does the stockist category work in relation to the WooCommerce product category?

How does the widget know what products to show in that WooCommerce product?

    Thanks,

    James

    James,

I’ll check and mail you back as soon as find the reason of issue.

WooCommerce product category has nothing common with Stockist plugin.
It was created to categorise products while we need to categorise stockists =)

You create category(Stockist plugin) -> add there stockists -> while creating/editing product you set “Stockists” option on and choose category ( Stockist’s one ). On the product page you will see stockists from the category you choose.

    James,

I think you need to check product. Did you choose stockists category to show?
Go to Product Edit page -> scroll to woocommerce options box -> check if Stockists option is enabled -> click Stockists on the left side menu -> Choose Stockist category and be sure that you don’t have category with same name =) If you create 2 categories with the same name and forgot about this it could add headache.

    Hi Dima,

thanks for your replies – that makes sense and it’s all working as expected now. It’s taken me a while to go through all the products (1500+) and set the stockist correctly though!

I have a couple more feature requests if that’s ok?

On the stockist entry/edit page, can you increase the height of the categories field as it’s only showing around 4 lines and if you’ve got a lot of categories it takes a lot of scrolling to get to the one you want.

Also on the stockist edit page, it would be good to have the edit link near the stockist name. At the moment it’s over on the right and I had trouble seeing which edit link was for it’s respective stockist.

Thirdly, when a user clicks on a stockist link in the sidebar widget, it would be good to use a named anchor or something to take the user straight to the details in the stockists tab – it’s not obvious enough to a user that that is where the details load. By using a named anchor on the widget stockist link is probably the easiest way of doing this.

    So rather than…

    https://sitename.com/this-is-a-product/?stockist_id=1927

    the url looks like…

    https://sitename.com/this-is-a-product/?stockist_id=1927#stockistdetails

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks again,

    James

    Hi James,

First of all I add to my features-list option to add Stockist’s category to WooCommerce category. This should save some time=)

I add features you requested to my list too.
Thanks for your propositions and so to say Beta-testing =)

    Regards,
    Dima
