• Hello.

I want to report that after the last WordPress update, some tags in the editor are disappearing. For example.

I can’t find a “Гърция” tag, but when I type “Гърция” all tags containing the word “Гърция” appear. Without only “Гърция”. The same goes for Iran, the US, and the like. But the tags themselves exist.

  • Hello, in the post editor the 10 most used tags list is displayed in the sidebar and I can see the?“Гърция” tag so it is does not seem to be missing (I apologise if I am misreading the word).

Here’s the same screenshot or photo you posted with the ?“Гърция” tag highlighted…

If ‘Iran’ and ‘the US’ are not used as much as “Гърция” then they won’t be listed in the tags list and you would have to enter the tag in the field before matching tags are suggested. I hope this helps explain, but do let us know if you have further questions or if I misunderstood your query.

    Thank you for your answer.

The tag “Гърция” accidentally showed up in most used. But he is not always there. For example, if I need “САЩ”, there is no where to get it. “САЩ” exists as a label. But it doesn’t show in the editor.

Please see the pictures. This happens with many tags. After the last WordPress update.

Hi, as far as I know the most used tags list only shows the top 10 tags with the most number of post counts, and then in order of when they were added, so a tag should not show up by accident.

In the second screenshot, I can see that the?“САЩ” tag has a post count of 762, so please check the post count for the “Константинопол (Истанбул)” tag in the first screenshot (the last or 10th tag). My guess is the “САЩ” tag has a lower post count, and that would be why you don’t see the “САЩ” tag in the most used tags list. It could potentially show up in the future, if it gets used in your blog posts more often.

So you can check the post counts of the 10 tags you can see right now in the most used tags list, they are most likely the ones with the highest number of post counts. Hope this helps and good luck!

The problem is that I can’t find the tag in the list of tags when I search for it. Not that I don’t find it on a most used list. In short: If I want to add a “САЩ” tag to a post, it can’t be done because I can’t find the “САЩ” tag anywhere.

Please see this video which will help you understand the problem.

Hello, thanks for the video explanation. It is strange that the “САЩ” tag is not appearing in the list, and this started with WordPress 6.3? I will see if there is an issue for that in WordPress core. Hopefully someone here might have a clue and provide a way forward.

In the meantime, I saw in the video that the website has a lot of tags. You might want to consider using a plugin:

I know it might not be the solution you’re looking for, but I thought it might help to simplify managing tags on the website. I’ll post again if I find anything else that could help. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply and for committing to finding a solution. I have no problem other than the one described above by me. When I look for them in the editor they disappear. But they actually exist in the database.

Thank you again. I am waiting for you. I wish you a calm and smiling Sunday.

    Respectfully,
    Alexander Angelov
