some unwanted things are happening – content missing

  • Hello there,
    We are using the Colormag free theme on our website. Recently we have faced some severe problems. We have lost around 200 draft posts all on a sudden. Those drafts had been created in December 2020. We have tried all the possible solutions (including Cpanel, server rewind), but didn’t get those back. A few days ago some of our right sidebar widgets went missing. We have to go to the customized section to get the widgets back.

    Note that, no malicious plugins or files were installed. So what can be the reason for this type of issue? is it because we are using the free version of the Colormag theme? So can I say that this free version of the theme malfunctioned our website?

    If this continues, it will be a big threat for us. Please help us.

    Thank you for writing in,

    I can confidently say that this is not an issue caused by the theme. Also, no, using the free version does not cause any such problem.

    You can try contacting your hosting provider to restore your site to the version which existed before the attack. That might work.

    We do not see any other reason except a plugin conflict that might have created such a problem. Please check the plugins again.
