• Hello, I seem to be having a site issue with one of my sites. The main site in question is the musicwatchdog.com site. I have been staying up to date with WordPress in its updates and I am not sure if that may be causing one of the issues. When I try to search on the site no matter what it is I get the error it can’t find anything.

Not sure if you can help me with this one but figured I’d ask anyways. The other issue I am having with is the audio players on the artist pages. When you visit those pages they have players with a couple of songs on each for them. Everything used to work until recently with a couple of the latest updates. I am in contact with the theme designer since it is a purchased theme. The support is pretty slow though so figured I would give you guys a shot ??

Also right now I disabled all plugins as that was one of the suggestions to try but seems to not fix anything.

Thank you as always for any and all help you give ??

  • 1) When I go to musicwatchdog.com, the browser redirects to musicwatchdog.com/site/. Is this redirect done on purpose? The search is done under musicwatchdog.com/site/ (ex. https://musicwatchdog.com/site/?s=sonny) while the posts seems to be under musicwatchdog.com and that’s probably why you are getting the 404.

    2) Where are the mp3s stored? double check the url of the files. Is this some type of plugin?

Ok, so I have figured out the search issue just not sure on how to fix it.

I also switched themes and tried with same result.

When I started this new site using this theme I used a plugin called Theme Test Drive so that way I could have the current site live while still working on the new design. When setting it up it asked where to install the theme and I put it /site. After doing all that and got everything figured out once the plugin was deactiavated it all seemed to work. Search, audio and everything worked.

The problem I am having is I have a redirect in my cpanel to forward to musicwatchdog.com/site. If you go to musicwatchdog.com it forwards you to the /site on the end and brings you to the correct homepage and loads fine. But if you try and search it does not work. Now if I remove the /site redirect in the cpanel and head to musicwatchdog.com it only takes me to musicwatchdog.com without the /site, but its a black homepage. If I click on the Home tab at the top right it takes me to the correct musicwatchdog.com/site, but the search function does work..

The audio files still don’t work with either one either so that’s still an issue to figure out.
