• After a recent migration of my hosting provider, I am getting this error on my WordPress Dashboard.

Notice: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.ads-software.com. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/****/public_html/******/wp-includes/update.php on line 295

This was not there before. I looked through many posts with no luck. I can not install or update any plugins. I tried to do a fresh install of wordpress but then the same error message popped up.

My website has SSL installed, I am not sure if that is causing the problem. What can I do in this case? The frontend appears fine though.

I contacted my hosting provider and they said the problem is with www.ads-software.com and they have nothing do with it whatsoever.

Please let me know if you need any other information to help me with this. Thank you. ??

  • Hi Raj,

Can you disable all your plugins and change to a default theme to rule out any conflicts.

    Hi Radices,
Yes, I have already done that. I even moved everything I had and installed a fresh copy of WordPress just to check. But I am still having the same problem.

    Have you enabled debugging mode?

Maybe also give this plugin a try and see if you can narrow down the error.

I’d also try a non SSL set-up to eliminate that as the culprit.

Yes, I have Debugging mode enabled. I don’t see any messages from WordPress on that.

I would love to give that plugin a try, but right now I can not get to work on my site for more than a minute. It works once in two hours for 2 minutes and then stops responding. And right now I see a “No data received” message on Chrome.

I checked that link and I don’t have everything configured that are listed there, but I am sure they are not anything major because they were there before Hostgator migrated also.

I have been working on this the whole day. Hostgator’s support is offline, their phone lines are busy and haven’t received a response on the ticket I opened this morning. I also went through various other threads to see if I can find a solution but as it turns out most of the time people could not find a solution to the problem I am facing and it was their host the other times.

So, I will wait for my host to respond and maybe change the hosting to see if that solves the problem. I will update tomorrow.

Thank you for your time. ??
