    “Something went wrong we’ll take you back to checkout so you can try again.”

    I am the designer/developer on this project. I built the site. We cannot process any transactions, not even Sandbox. When I set it up last week, it was troublesome, but I finally got it to work. Now, it never works. No live purchases, no sandbox purchases, I double-checked Paypal settings under Website Payments Encrypted is OFF, I disabled all plugins and tested, I’ve tried enabling and disabling Standard Paypal Checkout, I’ve made sure our Live ID and secret are correct as well as our Sandbox ID and Secret.

    All themes, plugins and WP are up to date (WP 5.5.1). Please help.

    I also forgot to mention, the debug log is showing up blank.

    Hi,

    Can you disable all other plugins except ours. Also clear any cache in your site if you have a cache plugin installed and also disable the cache plugin. Then carry out a test, make sure you enable Debug option. Once you complete the test check the log file.

    I already did that, but I will do it again.

    Hi,

    I notice that you enabled Sandbox testing. Can you disable this feature and only carry out live mode. Then carry out a test. Sandbox testing can be very tricky and many have issues trying to set it up correctly.

    I cannot, but the client has accepted at least 3 successful orders since implementing. It just stopped working. I have been setting up Paypal and testing with the sandbox for over a decade, I doubt the issue is with Sandbox if we already had successful purchases.

    I did notice they recently added a security plugin called ‘Titan Anti-spam & Security’. It was disabled during all testing, but I’m fairly certain it was not there before I installed your plugin and implemented Paypal. Could it be the issue, even when disabled?

    Other than that, I do not believe anything else has changed. We’ve used your plugin on another site on the same hosting account last year, it worked great!

    I did the health check and our theme Divi also offers a support area, which both let me know the clients’ PHP version was outdated 7.2 I gained access to their host/server and updated it to 7.4 and I also updated several PHP options like post_max_size max_execution_time, as well as enabled ZIP.

    I also found the sites error log with these most recent issues:

    Yes, every transaction, live or sandbox, fails.

    The error is on the PayPal’s site which usually means that the PayPal account being uses (as the merchant) doesn’t have some kind of permission for the smart checkout option. The smart checkout option requires correct API permissions for it to work. Without having access to the merchant account, we can only guess what permission is missing in that account. So I know that this answer is not the best.

    Just for a test, turn off the smart checkout option (in the settings menu of the plugin). Keep only the standard checkout. Does that standard PayPal checkout option work with that account?

    Unfortunately, the client decided to move onto another plugin/product. It may very well be his Paypal account, they’ve had other recent issues they only recently disclosed to me.
