    When trying to pay, client and customers are getting this error.

    “Something went wrong. We’ll take you back to checkout so you can try again.”

    The thing is that I don’t get this error and another person who tested it don’t get the error so that’s strange. The only way to see if you’re getting it is to pay for something I believe. This is a problem b/c it seems that all customers are getting it.

    Any help welcome please.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @sculley ,

    PayPal has an open bug report for this issue: https://github.com/paypal/paypal-checkout-components/issues/1319

    Can you check on that and see if it matches with what you’re seeing?

    Yes, it sounds like it. Thanks. I just changed the shipping method back to PayPal instead of PayPal checkout and it should be working again.

    It seems like the bug has been for a year or more.

    Thanks for your help and quick reply!

    And typo correction above: “doesn’t” not “don’t” :). I was typing fast!

    It’s pretty unfortunate that it’s been months and they haven’t fixed it, but it’s likely fairly difficult to trace down and resolve.

    I’m going to mark this as resolved, as it’s not something we can help with on our end and it’s reported to PayPal directly.

    Let us know if you need anything else.

    This is my debug log.
    09-03-2020 @ 09:40:29 – WC_Gateway_PPEC_Client::_request: returns error: Array
    (
    [ACK] => Failure
    [L_ERRORCODE0] => 3
    [L_SHORTMESSAGE0] => Error in WC_Gateway_PPEC_Client::_request
    [L_LONGMESSAGE0] => An error occurred while trying to connect to PayPal: cURL error 60: Peer’s Certificate issuer is not recognized.
    [L_SEVERITYCODE0] => Error

    Besides this, have you guys found issues with this plugin and the new WP 5.5 version? It seems like this error has been going on since last year but my client’s cart was working fine before the update but it started getting the error after updating to the newest WP version.
