    • WooCommerrce PayPal Payments Plugin: Version 2.6.0
    • WooCommerce plugin: Version 8.7.0
    • nable Standard PayPal for WooCommerce: Version 1.0.0
    • Mailchimp for WooCommerce: Version 3.7
    • Smart Coupons for WooCommerce Coupons: Version 1.6.1

Approximately 2 months ago this error “Something went wrong. Please try again or choose another payment source” began appearing and nothing changed on the website. The PayPal login password however was updated on the PayPal side, but that shouldn’t cause any issues with the plug-in.

    – Today I thought I should try Disconnecting the Account in the Payments Connection tab area.
    – Once it was disconnected, I reconnected PayPal by logging in to reset the connection to PayPal using the new password, it successfully connected but the error still persists.

    • The Payments area has “PayPal Standard” turned off.
    • Only 2 toggles are switched on:
PayPal – “Accept PayPal, Pay Later and alternative payment types.”
      (and)
Advanced Card Processing – “Accept debit and credit cards, and local payment methods with PayPal’s latest solution.

      Please advise next steps.

    Hello @csalzman

Based on the console output, this seems like a classic case of a conflict example.

I’m confident that if you deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Payments, the problem won’t recur. Also, switch your theme to something like Storefront.

After you’ve deactivated the plugins, please test to confirm the issue is resolved. Then, reactivate each plugin one at a time to identify which one triggers the problem again. Let us know the results of your testing.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian

    Hi Krystian,
Thanks for the quick response and for your testing time!

You were correct, it was a conflict with the Hosting Company’s Plugin! (Blue Host). I’m going to let their support team know about this issue, apparently they baked in some of their own WooCommerce “stuff” into their plugin – which in my opinion should not be turned on by default.

It’s unfortunate because now I don’t have easy access to clear their server cache and have to log into hosting now to do that. ??

Thanks again for your time and support,
    C.Salzman

I’m not sure what Bluehost added to their plugin but there are definitely WooCommerce Tools in there now and they were preventing the store from connecting to PayPal. This is the screen that was displayed when I deactivated their plugin today on (March 29th, 2024) https://i.gyazo.com/bd372348ea5cea6a57053925dece541a.png

    – Hopefully this helps out others that use Bluehost.
