    Hi,

I’m using the latest version of Yoast SEO 14.5. When I click on the Start Processing and Speed up your website now button I get this error:

Something went wrong while optimizing the SEO data of your site. Please try again later.

I also see this error on my search console:

SyntaxError: “JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data” wp-seo-indexation-1450.js:1:4101
    475 wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/js/dist/wp-seo-indexation-1450.js?ver=14.5:1

I deactivated all the other plugins on the website and checked still have the same issue.

Can someone help me get this resolved?

    Hello @sony-merlin,

    We’re sorry about that!

    Please try the following:

    • Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    • Go to Tools → Yoast Test
    • Click the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
    • Update to Yoast SEO 14.5
    • After you’ve tried that, please try the indexing again and let us know if the issue is solved.

Hi, same issue with me and same version as the original post. Using Yoast ‘Click the “Reset indexables & migrations” button’ test did not help, cannot upgrade to 14.5 if already on it, any other ideas?

    Hello!

Can you please check/perform the following?

    1. Verify if your database has the: ALTER, CREATE, DELETE, INDEX, INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE, DROP permissions. These permissions are required to create these tables in your database: wp_yoast_indexable, wp_yoast_indexable_hierarchy, wp_yoast_migrations, wp_yoast_primary_term. You may need to check with your web host.

    2. Once you have those permissions set, please perform the indexation again.

      – Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/yoast-test-helper/
      – Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
      – Locate the Yoast SEO section and select the “Reset indexables tables & migrations” button
      – Click the “Click here to speed up your site now” button in the SEO->Tools section

    Hi (@maybellyne),

I followed the steps you have said but still get the same error.

    Best regards,

    Hi @sony-merlin,

Thank you for your reply, sorry to hear that did not resolve the issue for you.

We would like to know a bit more information on your site.

    A) Are your other plugins, themes and WordPress itself up to date? If not, please check if the issue persists after installing any open update.
    B) Does your site meets the plugin requirements found here: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/#:~:text=For%20Yoast%20SEO%20to%20run,site%20is%20ready%20for%20it.?

If everything is up to date and your site and host meets the plugin requirements, we think the next step would be to use the Health Check plugin troubleshooting mode which switches back to a default theme and disables all plugins. Then you can enable Yoast SEO only and try to use the Speed up my site button under SEO → Tools → Start processing and speed up your site now button again to see if that works.

    Hi @sony-merlin,

We are going ahead and mark this topic as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new forum topic. Thank you!

    Hi @jeroenrotty,

I still have the issue. All the plugins and themes are up to date. I tried disabling all the plugins but still, have a problem with it.
